About Us
Cornerstone Christian Academy is excited to offer a private Christian alternative for education for our community. We serve students Kindergarten through 5th grade in our microschool and home school co-op. Our microschool is a full time and full service educational alternative with smaller class sizes and more individualized instruction while our homeschool co-op offers part time instruction and education to support home school families. We believe that education should be individualized and differentiated and address the academic, social, physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our students. We believe in flexible education options that work with the schedule of a busy and flourishing family. We have accredited teachers and provide quality education and spiritual guidance. We incorporate Biblical studies and worship into our daily instruction, and we make it fun and enjoyable for our students to learn and grow academically and spiritually.
Funding
We are a participating provider in the Educational Freedom Act Funding, and parents can apply for tuition assistance through the Department of Education at the link below. All applications must be submitted by June 1 for the following school year. You will simply need to express your intent to home school or microschool when you apply.
Schedules
Our hours of operation are 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday with the main educational hours being from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM. We offer before and after school care for any microschool students who need to attend outside the 9-2 educational hours. Homeschool co-op students have the option to attend Monday, Wednesday and Friday or Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM and will be included with students in our microschool classrooms but will be provided differentiated instruction to support their homeschool curriculum while participating in supplemental projects, experiments and experiences to enrich their overall educational experience.
Testing and Curriculum
CCAV Microschool uses the Good and the Beautiful curriculum but heavily depends on the creativity and expertise of our qualified teachers as well for rigorous education and instruction. Homeschool Co-op students have the option to use the same curriculum as our microschool students with parents facilitating their lessons on days they do not attend. We can also accommodate homeschool students who work with other curriculums like ABEKA or Foundations.
Our microschool students are given state standardized tests to assess progress and confirm that they are meeting the state standards, but our testing is not high pressure or anxiety inducing, and we do everything we can to support students to have positive testing experiences. Homeschool co-op students have the option to participate in testing or can choose to forego the testing portion of our program.
